Here’s a recipe, using real whole foods, that is so nourishing and hits the sweet spot! I love this recipe because we keep it simple with minimal ingredients, cooking skills and time required!

These are perfect to have with a cuppa or after dinner when you just want a bite of something sweet and yummy to finish your day of eating… I know that you know that feeling too!

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups pitted dates *See note below

  • 1 cup almonds dry roasted

  • ½ cup hazelnuts dry roasted

  • ½ cup sunflower seeds

  • ½ cup cacao powder

(You can sub the nuts and seeds with whatever you prefer or what is handy in the pantry).

Optional (to coat):

  • 1 cup dessicated coconut

  • Any other coatings you prefer, for example cacao nibs or sesame seeds.

Equipment:

  • Blender/processor

  • Measuring cup

  • Bowls

  1. While measuring the other ingredients soak the dates in hot water for 5-10 minutes to soften them.

  2. Using a food processor/blender, combine all ingredients, except the optional toppings. If the mixture is a bit too dry, add small amounts of hot water, until the desired consistency is reached. If you have a small blender you may need to 1. Blend the dates and remove them then 2. Blend the nuts/seeds/cacao powder and then 3. Put them all together.

  3. Roll the mixture into small bite sized pieces, using your hands.

  4. Then roll the balls in your chosen coating/s; dessicated coconut, cacao nibs and/or sesame seeds.

  5. Store in the fridge and try not to eat them all at once (which is hard!).

*I buy the packet cooking dates, rather than the medjool dates, as it is much more cost effective. The trick to getting the same caramel taste is to soak the dates in hot water for 5-10 minutes to soften them before blending.

Ps. These are even a hit with fam and friends who “aren’t into those healthy desserts/treats” - that’s when you know it’s a winner!!

Happy indulging! xx

  • 1.5C oat milk (again, sub for preference)

  • 1/2tsp cinnamon

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1/2tsp vanilla essence (optional)

Method:

  • Throw it all together and stir.

  • Let it set overnight in the fridge and enjoy tomorrow morning!

  • I eat 1C for breakfast topped with a spoonful of peanut butter. Option to top with whatever fresh fruit you like!

  • Keep this in the fridge for 3-5 days or invite your people over for a breakfast party!

Hi 🫶🏽

I love breakfast, I love yummy, easy and nourishing recipes and I love sharing them with you guys!

My favourite thing about this one is that it’s a time saver! I swear sometimes I spend so long getting my food ready, whilst getting distracted multiple times, that it’s mid morning before I eat it.

Make a batch of this, put it in the fridge and then scoop and enjoy. Eat it at home or put it in a jar for on the go. I add a spoonful of peanut butter on top because pb is a breakfast necessity for me.

You could try with different fruits and nuts/seeds! If the mixture seems a bit dry in the morning from the oats and chia seeds soaking up all the liquid just add a bit more milk and stir.

Share your creations with us and comment below how you went!

Happy eating xx

Ps. To make it:

Gluten free - Use gf oats

Vegan - coconut yoghurt instead of greek + rice syrup instead of honey

Hello hello TSE Fam ❤️

You guys know that I LOVE food! I’m always on the hunt for recipes that hit the spot post dinner with a cup of tea. It’s not about calories or substituting the “bad” with the “good”.

Everything can be healthy.

It’s about how we enjoy our food.

It’s about how we experience food.

It’s a ritual, it brings us together and is nourishing for the body and soul.

Food is definitely one of my love languages and I truly believe there is no greater act of love than taking time to prepare and cook yummy, nourishing food, for ourselves or others, that fills up our belly and soul.

These aren’t my recipes but they are goodies! Do you know what I hate… searching to find a recipe, getting the ingredients, baking/frying/freezing/whatever and only to find that you followed the recipe to a tee… BUT it tastes below average! All that effort down the drain...

So I’ve done the testing and these two slices pass the test 👇🏽

Healthy Home Made Muesli Bars

I used melted coconut oil, I didn't have avocado oil, and definitely add the choc chips - yummier than I expected (usually muesli bars are a bit meh). Make sure you don’t try and cut it early or you’ll have granola instead of slice!

No Bake Chocolate Coconut Bars

This slice is so easy, quick and relatively cost effective because we aren’t adding a bazillion superfoods. I snack on this at allll times of day! Make this if you have some friends popping over or consume in solitude with a good book. If I make these for someone specifically I HAVE to leave a 'Don't you dare touch me' note on them or Jakob will 100% eat them within a few hours. Simple and yummy... I think you'll love them!

Let me know when you guys make these! Comment below how it turned out and whether we are fans of these slices 👩🏽‍🍳

Shoutout to Choosing Chia for creating amazing recipes!!

That's all from me for now! I just wanted to share some of the yummy things that are filling up my heart and soul at the moment... and I hope the baking and eating brings you joy too!

All my love (with extra choc chips),
